INTERCOOLER
Intercooler exchange device used on turbocharged and supercharged internal combustion engines to improve their volumetric efficiency by increasing intake air charge density through nearly isobaric cooling, which removes the heat of compression that occurs in any gas when its pressure is raised or its unit mass per unit volume is increased.
Intercooler Tube & Fin Design:
Tube & Fin have better external air flow through it, are lighter, are more robust,and tend to be less expensive. The better external air flow and lack of seams make T&F type a better choice for most front mount applications, since the radiator behind it will get more air, and it's less to develop a leak from rock and debris hitting it.
Intercooler Bar & Plate Design:
Bar & Plate tend to be more efficient (most estimate 30-35% more,lower pressure drop, and have higher thermal capacity than Tube & Fin.
